Introduction

Blogging, a term coined in 1997 by Jorn Barger, blogger for Robot Wisdom. In addition, the blogging is the process of logging the web while surfing the internet. In 1994, Swarthmore College student Justin Hall creates the first blog, Links.net, which wasn’t seen as personal homepage. Programmer Peter Merholz shortened the term “weblog” to “blog” in 1999. Initially, a blog was a personal journal or weblog where people shared their thoughts and opinions on various topics. The posts were available for display in reverse chronological order so that the most recent post would appear first. The word “blog” is a truncation of “weblog.”

Concept of Blogs

Blog are regularly update websites that provide information on a specific topic. They consist of discrete, often informal diary-style text entries (posts), and the most recent post appears first at the top of the web page. Additionally, blogs promote reader engagement and interaction since readers can comment and voice their concerns and thoughts to the community. Blog owners update their sites regularly with new posts to create a relationship between their company and audience, provide knowledge on relevant topics, increase engagement and traffic to their website, and create a community.

The only real difference between a blog and other types of websites is that one can update blogs regularly with new content, display in reverse chronological order. Typical websites are static, where one can organize content in pages and create more frequently. In its most basic form, blogs can help you develop an online presence, prove yourself an expert in an industry, and attract more quality leads to all site pages. If you’re considering creating one for your business or want to learn more, keep reading and get back to us. In Ohimai Consulting, several of our articles are display in the blog.
